Rogue Wave Software was a Colorado-based software company specializing in enterprise software development tools, libraries, and components. Founded in the early 1990s, the company built a strong reputation for its C++ class libraries, particularly the SourcePro product line, which helped developers build cross-platform applications more efficiently. Rogue Wave also offered static code analysis tools, open-source support, and application performance management solutions that served large enterprise development teams across industries including financial services, telecommunications, and government. Over the years, Rogue Wave expanded its portfolio through acquisitions, adding products such as Klocwork (static code analysis), Imago (open-source compliance), and TotalView (high-performance computing debugger). This growth positioned the company as a broad-based provider of developer productivity and software quality tools. The company was backed by private equity and went through several ownership changes, including acquisition by Marlin Equity Partners. In 2019, Rogue Wave Software was acquired by Perforce Software, a provider of version control and DevOps tools, in a deal that significantly expanded Perforce's portfolio of developer tools. Following the acquisition, Rogue Wave's products and brand were largely absorbed into Perforce's broader offering, with individual product lines continuing under the Perforce umbrella. The Rogue Wave brand itself was retired as Perforce consolidated its identity around a unified developer tools platform.
