LiveRail was a programmatic video advertising platform acquired by Facebook August 2014 (~$500M). At the time, the largest video SSP/exchange in the world. Facebook attempted to extend Audience Network targeting via LiveRail to off-Facebook video inventory. Shut down by Facebook end of 2017 as Facebook pivoted away from external video ad tech.
