Watchlist
The Watchlist lets you save companies and people you want to track, and get notified when anything changes. Watchlist features require beta access.
Adding & Removing Items
Adding to Your Watchlist
Click the heart icon on any company or person profile to add it to your watchlist. The icon fills in to confirm it's been saved. No confirmation dialog — it's instant.
You can also add items from:
- Company directory cards (grid or list view)
- Search results
- Any page showing entity cards
Removing from Your Watchlist
Click the filled heart icon again to remove the item. It's removed immediately.
Viewing Your Watchlist
Visit /watchlist to see all your saved items. The page shows:
- All watchlisted entities in a paginated grid (24 per page)
- Two tabs: All Items (your saved entities) and Changes (updates to those entities)
- A badge on the Changes tab showing unseen changes
Notifications
When something changes about a watchlisted entity, ATDb can notify you in two ways: in-app on the Changes tab, and via email.

M&A-related changes
ATDb does not use distinct change types for pending-acquisition lifecycle events. Instead, M&A activity surfaces as a combination of the existing types:
- A new pending acquisition announced → typically
event_linked(a new acquisition event added) +metadata_updated(the company'spending_acquirer_slugorpending_acquisitionsarray is set) + sometimesrelationship_added(the future-dated structural edges). - A deal closes → admin advances the structural edges'
valid_fromto the actual close date and flips the event's status tocompleted; this surfaces asrelationship_added+metadata_updatedon both sides. - A deal is cancelled or terminated → the metadata is cleared and the event's status is updated; surfaces as
metadata_updated.
If you want to track pending acquisitions specifically, watchlist the company on either side of the deal — both the acquirer and the target receive change notifications.
Changes Tab
The Changes tab (/watchlist/changes) shows a chronological feed of all updates to your watched entities. Each change shows:
- The entity name (clickable to its profile)
- The type of change with a color-coded badge
- When the change happened
Click Mark all as read to clear the unseen badge.
Notification Preferences
Configure how you want to be notified in Settings (/settings):
- Immediate emails — get an email as soon as a watched entity changes
- Daily digest — one summary email per day
- Weekly digest — one summary email per week
- Off — in-app only, no emails
Digest Emails
If you opt into digest emails, you'll receive periodic summaries of what changed across your watchlist.
What's in a Digest
Each digest email includes:
- A list of entities that changed since your last digest
- The type of change for each entity
- An AI-generated personalized summary highlighting the most important updates
- Links to view each entity's profile
Digest Schedule
- Daily digests are sent at 7 AM UTC
- Weekly digests are sent on Mondays at 7 AM UTC
Digests are only sent when there are actual changes to report. If nothing changed, you won't receive an email.

- Go to
/settings - Find the Notifications section
- Select your preferred watchlist email frequency
- Save — changes take effect at the next scheduled digest
