Indian family channels have been dominating our Global Top 50 chart in recent months, but they took a break from the #1 spot at the start of May. Instead, a familiar couple danced its way into the top spot. Jasmin and James got the most YouTube views of any channel during the week that ended on May 3. The Germany-based hub got 1.12 billion weekly views, making it one of two members of the ten-digit views club during our most recent measurement period. BRUNO is on top of our Global Sub Top 50 chart for the third week in a row. By adding 2.4 million new subscribers over a seven-day period, the Ukrainian creator brought his lifetime YouTube tally up to 32.8 million subs. That number is a bit behind YouTube's subscriber leader, MrBeast. North Carolina's native son now has 481 million subscribers on his primary channel, but only two million of those subs arrived over the past week. YouTube is testing a tool that lets creators generate royalty-free music for their videos

YouTube is testing a tool that helps creators deal with copyright claims, and it could upend the industry centered around royalty-free music. In YouTube Studio, creators can now respond to a piece of claimed audio by generating a sound-alike, royalty-free track and inserting that piece of music into the contested video. The instrumental track generator is currently available in the U.S. for desktop users. YouTube is positioning the tool as an asset for creators who inadvertently use copyrighted music in their videos. When resolving those claims, a new "Create" button generates four pieces of instrumental music. Creators can then swap in the alternative track that best suits their video.
