Spotify for Podcasters was Spotify's consolidated podcast creator platform, formed when Spotify rebranded and merged the capabilities of Anchor — the free podcast hosting and creation tool it acquired in 2019 — into a unified destination at podcasters.spotify.com. The platform was officially unveiled under the Spotify for Podcasters name at Spotify's Stream On event in March 2023, signaling the company's intent to make podcast creation deeply native to the Spotify ecosystem rather than a separate third-party workflow. The platform provided end-to-end tools for independent podcasters and professional creators alike, including free podcast hosting, episode recording and editing, RSS feed distribution, detailed audience analytics, and multiple monetization pathways such as listener subscriptions, Spotify Audience Network advertising, and paid content. Its deep integration with Spotify's platform gave creators unique access to Spotify-specific data including listener demographics, streaming behavior, and follower metrics that external hosting platforms could not replicate.
